Sunlight creates some amazing cinematic moments in Chinatown, particularly underneath the Manhattan Bridge. It’s a great place to people watch as light seeps through the steel structure and pours onto city streets. I imagine this man as my grandfather, someone’s grandfather, stoic and full of infinite wisdom.

The tenement buildings built in the 1800s in the Lower East Side and Chinatown give way to the skyscrapers in the Financial District. The latest Frank Gehry apartment high-rise at the top middle of the picture and World Trade Center 1 rising up at the top right of the picture.
